Rare Patek Philippe Ref.641JR “W. HOROVITZ-ALEXANDRIE” Flying Saucer Pocket Watch
Ref. 641 is a rare reference produced only in one batch. An Art Deco magnificent design sample, with a touch of Modernist case shape, usually seen after the end of 1940s.
Today only the present sample is known to have survived, it is double signed W. Horovitz-Alexandrie, the Egyptian Patek Philippe retailer, and bears French import marks as the watch had to transit through Marseille to be shipped to Alexandrie, on the other side of the Mediterranean.
This was probably made only in yellow gold. Its unique shape and the accompanying original certificate make it even more interesting.
An Extract of Archives dated 2020 confirms that the movement was made in 1928 and sold in 1944 with a gold dial and raised gold hour-markers.
