Rare Patek Philippe Ref.600GR 3-Tone Art Deco Dial Pocket Watch
Ref. 600 was launched in 1933. It is one of most popular pocket watches produced by the company. Its shape is still up-to-date and it is not a hazard that when launched it was named “Modern”, in opposition to the classical “bassine” or to the “murat” shapes usual for that period. It is also called “white tie” or “smoking” watch.
It was equipped with different 16 or 17’’’ calibres, changing the watch thickness. It also exists with sweep second or with different decoration on the dial or on the case back.
Less than ten known ref. 600 with two-tone cases were identified; the present watch being one of two with such a sector dial.
An Extract of Archives dated 2020 confirms that the watch was made in 1932 and sold in 1937 with silver dial, raised gold hour-markers and rose & white gold case.
