Pre-Extra Fort Chronograph
1940s
Sold
Vintage Eberhard Pre-Extra Fort Manual-winding Chronograph with locking mechanism and Hunter Caseback. 1940s.
This Pre-Extra Fort chronograph from the 1940s is a unique and rare piece that differs from the others of the same model with its black moderne hands and black-painted baton markers while other pieces in the market is available with markers in complete Roman numerals or Arabic numerals. The silvered dial is complemented by three subsidiary dials for the Chronograph registers and small continuous seconds. This rare vintage from Eberhard is powered by their in-house 16000 movement which offers the functionality to lock the bottom chronograph button simply by sliding the pusher up towards the crown, preventing any incidental reset or stop to the running Chronometer. All of this is housed in a 40mm steel case – which was pretty large for the 1940s –making this timepiece a true tool watch.
