In the words of the Founder;

Collecting vintage watches is a life-long journey, with each piece reflecting a certain phase or memory of a person’s life. It can be about achieving a particular milestone, a life-changing event happened, enjoying the view at a particular location somewhere in the world, my wedding, or even at a random place when I chanced upon a piece of vintage I fell in love with. Therefore, each vintage timepiece marks a period of time in human history and also entails the life story of the bearers; usually an exceptional individual.

2ToneVintage Watches is the realisation of a dream and, the commitment to a passion for our Founder, Mr. Ali Nael.

Born in Beirut, Ali started his first company in Macao and Guangzhou, China, handling exports of all kind of goods to West Africa and the Middle-East. He went into the oil industry in 2006 which subsequently established a company headquartered in Singapore. As a well-travelled businessman, Ali was always looking out for rare, exquisite and historically significant watches wherever his business brings him to. Ali has since left the successful stint in the oil industry, and is residing in Singapore, which he calls home.

By the time Ali started 2ToneVintage Watch Gallery, he had already amassed an impressive and respected collection of vintage watches from brands such as Patek Philippe, Vacheron Constantin, Audemars Piguet, Rolex, Cartier, Longines, to name a few. Among his collections are also very rare and historically significant pieces from maisons such as Gübelin and Moldova. Apart from the signature on the dials, Ali pays attention to timepieces that have introduced technological break-through and innovations to the watchmaking industry, and curate them regardless of the brand.

Honouring History. Celebrating Our Innovations.

To Ali, collecting and appreciating vintage timepieces is more than consumerism. It is about understanding and appreciating the history and development of watchmaking, and honouring the great names that have made possible the continuation of this engineering marvel we have on our wrists. Some names may have faded into oblivion with time, but when he discover timepieces from them, he grabs them with no hesitation. As a collector, Ali seek to not only share his discoveries with fellow collectors, but also share his experience and knowledge in collecting vintage timepieces with individuals who are keen.

As a fervent collector himself, Ali has a soft spot for vintage watches from Patek Philippe, which is evident from his personal collection that is mostly made up of Patek Philippe timepieces. Ali admires the innovation of the brand and the standards embedded in their culture, which are reflect in every creation and reference that Patek presented to the world for over 181 years.

In 2019, Ali launched his first book, My Dream Collection, a chronicle of his vintage Patek Philippe collection. Describing Patek Philippe’s creations as a work of art, his passion and obsession for Patek Philippe can be felt among his inner circles, even those who met him briefly. His book reflected this passion and his elaborate studies into vintage timepieces from Patek Philippe.
